Paper Packaging
According to historical records, papermaking was invented by Cai Lun of China before 105 AD, and it was introduced to various parts of Asia in the 2nd century AD, and papermaking was introduced in the 12th century. In Europe, it was introduced to America in the 16th century, and handmade paper was only available in the United States in the 17th century.



Ceramic container

Glass container

In the 17th century, glass factories had spread all over Europe. In 1828, France invented the first machine for blowing glass bottles, and then glass bottles for soda and milk came out one after another. With the development of bottle-making machines, glass bottles gradually realized serialization, standardization and generalization. volume and high strength.


Wooden packaging
Around the 1st century BC, it was found that people began to use wooden boxes and barrels to pack items. In the long historical period in the future, wooden packaging has been hand-made. In 1800, machine-made wooden boxes were produced in the United States. With the expansion of the amount of wooden packaging, the consumption of wood is also increasing, people began to study plywood. In recent decades, wood-based panels have developed rapidly. Currently, wood-based panels used for packaging include plywood ,fiberboard , particleboard , etc.

Metal packaging
In 770 BC, during the Spring and Autumn Period in China, iron wares and iron tripods were artificially made. Due to the heavyweight and high price of cast irons, they cannot be used in large quantities on packaging containers. In the Middle Ages, Europe made tinplate and mass-produced it. After the 19th century, the United States began to use aluminum packaging to make cans for beverage packaging. In 1942, the United States successfully developed a metal spray container, pioneering the road of spray packaging.
Plastic packaging
In 1868, the Haier brothers in the United States invented the world’s earliest plastic “celluloid”, and in 1909 Backlund invented phenolic plastics, laying the foundation for the modern plastics industry. After the 1920s, various plastics were widely used in packaging, and packaging has undergone great changes. In 1927, polyvinyl chloride plastic became a commercial product, and in 1930, polyethylene plastic came out, and began to mass-produce plastic films and plastic containers , gradually replacing paper food packaging , has become one of the main pillars of modern packaging. The development of vacuum packaging technology, thermoforming packaging technology, shrink packaging technology and other technologies have made packaging materials and containers more colorful.

Collection packaging
In the 1820s, due to the development of the transportation industry, a simple form of collective packaging (pallet) appeared in the United Kingdom. In 1900, simple containers were used for railway transportation in the United Kingdom, and then the United States began to use container transportation on railways. By 1955, as shipping volumes increased, large-tonnage seagoing ships appeared, and American-designed platforms were used to carry containers. By 1981, 97 countries around the world had adopted container transportation, making collective packaging and container transportation a major form of contemporary transportation.
